01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
A peeled eggplant gently steeped in fragrant dashi and seasonal fish grilled over steady heat highlight the understated craftsmanship running through the food at Imadoki. Tucked away in Higashimagome, Ota Ward, this Japanese restaurant offers a measured dining experience guided by an omakase progression.
From drinking snacks to complete tasting menus
The core of the menu is an omakase selection tailored by course count. Options range from the 3-course Shakuyaku, designed to accompany drinks with sashimi, a seasonal hassun assortment, and grilled items, to the 6-course Botan with simmered fare and dessert, the 8-course Yuri featuring soup and fried dishes, and the expansive 9-course Omakase Imadoki running from sakizuke appetizer to sweet finish. Depending on the day, dishes like tender stewed beef, braised pork kakuni, or seasonal rice topped generously with matsutake mushrooms provide satisfying substance.
Quiet evenings alongside regional sake
Sake selection plays an integral role in complementing the meal. The cellar features bottles from across Japan, including Chokaisan junmai daiginjo from Akita, KID from Wakayama, an unfiltered nama-zake from Niigata's Takachiyo, and Takijiman from Mie, served alongside large-format bottled beers and sours. The serene interior features a solid-wood counter and tables, making solo dining feel comfortable and unhurried. Because seating is limited, dinner reservations are recommended, and payment is cash only.
